Earth Day, 2013

In celebration of earth day Jen and I woke up today and her wonderful dad brought us out into the beautiful marshes of southern Louisiana, where we proceeded to catch a redfish that I am now preparing for dinner. Some may feel this is an odd way to celebrate earth day, I on the other hand feel that it is simply perfect.

The earth is wonderful. We are so accustomed to pillaging it through the ways in which we create our food today. If everyone had the opportunity to provide for themselves even a few times a year and really respected the source of what it is that we eat, I do believe that we would treat the earth so much better and live in a way that isn’t quite so abrasive and disrespectful to the land.

I love our earth.. you should too.

The art of a craft.

What I am truly impressed with, in life, is meeting those who have pursued a craft and who, through that craft, have become tuned to finer things in life that are only seen or experienced when you get past the shallow simplicity of something, into much deeper relationships with whatever it is one does..
